November Events Bring AAGL Global Congress, Texas EMS, The Running Event to Austin Convention Center

AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin Convention Center is hosting three scheduled events in November 2021. The events hosted at the Austin Convention Center include the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) 50th Global Congress on MIGS, the 2021 Texas EMS Conference and the 2021 Running Event.

From Nov. 14-17, the AAGL 50th Global Congress on MIGS is scheduled at the Austin Convention Center. The four-day hybrid event will feature scheduled in-person and online education programming, including surgical demonstrations and labs, surgical tutorials, debates and panels along with on-site health and safety measures. AAGL is the largest medical society focused on advancing MIGS (Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery). AAGL is celebrating its 50th – Golden Anniversary and is promoting the event as the world’s largest gathering of MIG surgeons in North America.

The 2021 Texas EMS Conference is scheduled at the Austin Convention Center from Nov. 21-24. The conference offers educational classes and opportunities to attendees and aims to address the industry expectations and demands for emergency medical personnel, professionals and administrators. The programming also includes the Texas EMS SIM Games, a team series of competitive scenario-based challenges to assess treatments on manikins.

From Nov. 30 – Dec. 2 the 2021 The Running Event (TRE), a premier conference and trade show for running specialty retailers, is scheduled at the Austin Convention Center. The event attracts industry professionals seeking the latest in running footwear, apparel, gear, and services. Conference programming at TRE includes product demonstrations and discovery, peer-to-peer learning, and the trade show.

The Austin Convention Center and Palmer Events Center are operated by the Austin Convention Center Department (ACCD), a division of the City of Austin. The Austin Convention Center Department continues to adhere to all City of Austin, Travis County, State of Texas, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations.

The City of Austin has issued a mask mandate ordinance (effective Aug. 12, 2021). Masks are to be worn regardless of vaccination status in or on City property, and on property the City owns, manages, or controls. This includes the Austin Convention Center and the Palmer Events Center. Health screenings and temperature checks upon entry are not required but are available as optional services per client request.
