Security and Safety Division

The Austin Convention Center Security and Safety Division is comprised of 35 full-time, uniformed Facility Service Representatives, 8 full-time, client-facing Security Coordinators, a dedicated Safety Team, a full-time Fire Marshal, more than 100 part-time Event Staff, and 34 full-time Licensed Peace Officers. Event Security

Our security team constantly patrols the facility. You cannot walk through the venue without meeting a member of our event security team surveying the area. They stay aware of all that is happening throughout the facility including exhibit halls, ballrooms, meeting rooms, and the exterior perimeter.

Booth Security

Exhibitors need security too. Using our Booth Security Form, you can purchase protection for VIPs, valuable products, documents, and equipment. This enables you to concentrate on business as usual. Let the professionals do their job, while you optimize for success.

The Austin Convention Center Department employs its own exclusive 24-hour security team. Our cadre of dedicated uniformed security officers is highly experienced and trained to know the nuances of the convention center building, property, and the immediate downtown area. The entirety of our security team leadership are former City of Austin Police officers with over 100 years of combined experience. The Austin Convention Center’s Security Division utilizes a strategic security approach that includes both physical and electronic mechanisms that will be visible during your event. The City of Austin has an strong police presence downtown and keeps the assurance that the safety of visitors is a top priority.
